Grilled Salmon Recipe:
To try one simple way to grill salmon, try the following recipe.

While it is not necessary, you may want to make sure that the are fresh or thawed and that the scales have been taken off of your fillets and rinsed thoroughly before cooking.

Ingredients:

• about 2 to 3 pounds of salmon fillets (leave skin on)
• brown sugar
• soy sauce
• garlic powder
• salt
• lemon juice

First make sure that your fillets are cleaned, rinsed and patted dry. Then mix up your light marinade that will consist of garlic powder (approx. 1/2 Tbs), 1/4 cup of water, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, and 1/4 cup of brown sugar. Mix and blend lightly. Then brush the marinade over the meat side of your fillets. Next you will need to salt and pepper the fillets to taste.

Next, once your grill is up to medium temperature, say approx 375 to 400 degrees, place your fillets on the grill, skin side down. Do not turn the fillets during grilling as it may make the meat fall apart. One thing that can help the meat from sticking to the grill, is to brush a little cooking oil on the grill or on the skin side of the fillets. The thickness of the fillets and the cooking temperature will determine the proper cooking time, but look to keep them on the grill for about 12 to 16 minutes. The meat will be easy to pull off, or flake off. When serving, splash a little bit of lemon juice across the meat to add a little acidity and you are all set.

This is an easy recipe for this popular fish species. Experiment with the seasonings and salmon type to perfect your own method.
